Looking for ways to cut or simply reduce refined sugar from your diet? Here's a recipe for the easiest healthy homemade jam. Only 3 nutrient-packed ingredients - fruit, dates and chia seeds. That's all! I've also included my 5 favourite ways to use chia jams.
This jam is refined sugar-free, packed with protein, fiber, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals and loaded with those oh-so-important antioxidants! The recipe is very versatile. You can use your favourite berry or make combos, like strawberry-rhubarb or raspberry-peach jams.
Easiest Homemade Chia Jam- 8 servings
* 2 cups fresh or thawed, frozen berries
* 2 dates, pitted
* 2 tbsp chia seeds
Combine the fruit, dates and chia seeds in a food processor or blender and process for a few seconds at a time, leaving a few larger fruit pieces. You can process the jam longer if you want a really smooth sauce or use a masher to make a chunkier jam instead.
Transfer the jam to a mason jar and store in the fridge for up to a week. It's also freezer-friendly, just leave an inch of space at the top to allow for expansion.
My 5 Favourite Ways to Use Homemade Chia Jams

2. On a PB&J sandwich- so classic!
